No. 1
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve started writing a blog on this website only to abandon it because I thought I didn’t have anything important to share. As I’ve gotten older I’ve regretted not being a journal person. I wish I had notebooks filled with my day-to-day activities from years past, but honestly the only time I kept journals was when I was in a bad place with a relationship or when I was actively pulling tarot cards.
Now that I am a Mom, I want to do a better job of documenting my life with my son even if it’s just to talk about going to the park or surviving the unbearable heat of a Texas summer. Today, will mark day 1 of what hopefully turns into a daily habit. This morning my son woke up in his crib next to our bed and played quietly until he noticed that I also was awake and that’s when he turned on his charm. With a big smile he raised his chubby arm and waved at me to let me know he was ready to go. I picked him up and took him out to the living room where it has been transformed into a child’s playroom. Toys and blankets cover our floor, but of course none of those appeal to him…He’s mostly interested in anything that could possibly be dangerous.
I sip my coffee and play on the floor with him while he scoots across the floor. He looks like a little frog trying to make it from one end to the other. Now I’m trying to get him down for his first nap, but he’s got other ideas. If he can get a decent nap in I’m hoping to take him to visit a friend for brunch and then maybe later we’ll fill the pool up in our backyard for him to splash around.
